Mentorship with BMES

From Our Mentorship Coordinators

We understand the difficulty of pursuing engineering, without knowing where to start. Our Mentorship Program is made to guide and advise freshman and sophomores while they navigate their way through their engineering fields, here at Aggieland.

In this program, we pair up a BMEN upper-classmen to mentor an under-classmen by giving one-on-one advice and by sharing the experiences they had within the department. Because our school offers many career paths, including the heavily interested Pre-Med, we will provide students with several meetings to inform them of their options including:

  • The ETAM Process
  • Medical School Information
  • Research Opportunities
  • Study Abroad Opportunities
  • Specific BMEN Paths

During these presentations, not only will we have student speakers, but we will include and encourage the BMEN staff to come in and give advice to the students. Along with informational meetings, we will also have numerous socials for the people in the program to network and gain potential lifelong bonds. The following informational meetings for the year include, but are not limited to:

  • How to find Research Opportunities
  • Navigating the ETAM Process
  • Resume Workshop
  • Study Abroad Opportunities
  • Medical School Information
  • Industry Advice
  • The Intricacies within BMEN Specific Degree Paths

We are so excited and hope you will join us for our first meeting in September!
